LastRoll Beta — Installation Guide

Thank you for testing LastRoll. Please follow all three steps to get the full workflow running.

What you'll need

  • An Android phone

  • A Windows PC running Lightroom Classic

  • Your camera RAW files

Step 1 — Install the Phone App

Click this link on your Android phone to join the beta and install LastRoll:

Once installed, open the app and follow the on-screen setup. You'll see a clock screen — make sure this matches your camera's clock before you shoot.

Step 2 — Install the Desktop App

Download and run the installer on your Windows PC:

  • Run the installer and follow the prompts

  • LastRoll will appear in your Start Menu and on your Desktop

  • Launch LastRoll Desktop before transferring sessions from your phone

Step 3 — Install the Lightroom Plugin

Download the plugin zip file:

To install:

  1. Unzip the downloaded file

  2. In Lightroom Classic go to File → Plug-in Manager

  3. Click Add and navigate to the unzipped LastRoll.lrplugin folder

  4. Click Add Plug-in then Done

How to use LastRoll

  1. Before a shoot, open LastRoll on your phone and make sure the clock matches your camera

  2. Takes your photos and use LastRoll to record your voice notes and keywords as you go along.

  3. When you want to make a note, tap Record — give your narration and thoughts, then say “KEYWORDS” and speak clearly the keywords you would like to add, then tap Stop

  4. Add any extra keywords or notes and tap Save Event

  5. After your shoot, copy your RAW files to your PC

  6. Open LastRoll Desktop, click Select RAW Folder and point it at your RAW files

  7. On your phone, go to the Events tab, tap Send to Desktop and scan the QR code

  8. Back on the desktop, review the matches and click Write XMP Files

  9. In Lightroom go to Library → Plug-in Extras → Load Session from RAW Folder to import your keywords, captions and GPS data

  10. To play audio for any photo, select it in Lightroom and go to Library → Plug-in Extras → Play Audio for Selected Photo
