“The following was written about me by my friends and family”
— Kiran Simpson
Kiran is a passionate wildlife photographer with a deep love for the natural world. Though only 14 years old, he has already shown remarkable skill and dedication. From a very early age, he’s been drawn to the sights and sounds of nature, especially birds. With camera in hand, he spends his free time exploring Scotland’s woods, coasts, and wild spaces, always hoping to capture something special. For Kiran, the greatest reward is simply being out in our beautiful outdoors, surrounded by the life he loves. Each photo reflects not just his technical skill, but genuine patience, curiosity, and awe of nature.
His talent has earned him recognition, including the Junior Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2024 for his image Feathers and Ripples, and the British Wildlife Photography Awards 2024 in the 12–14 age category.
It’s inspiring to see a youngster who truly enjoys spending time in nature and is passionate about sharing its wonders.
Kiran dreams of building a career dedicated to protecting our God-given natural world and its incredible creatures. Through photography, he hopes to inspire others to notice, appreciate, and care for the wildlife around them. Every image shared is a reminder that nature matters, and that we all have a role in preserving it.
